Fall Nails

Style and trends change with the seasons it amazes me how each new season brings a new look. From clothes to hair and even our nails. As fall approaches I have been into my nails more than ever before. Honestly I am not a fan of my hands they are short and my middle finger is slightly twisted (from my view). However no one seems to notice  ha ha. We all have weird quirks and mine are hands. Enough about my quirks lets talk about nails.

The latest nail trend is obviously gel nails. I purchased an at home quick gel nail topcoat that works wonders. Apart from gel nails we all love the fall colors. Check out a few of my favorite below.

I Can’t end this post without sharing a super easy tip.

What You Need

  1. Nail polish
  2. Basecoat
  3. Top coat
  4. Ice
  5. Water
  6. Bowl

How it Works

First grab your bowl and place the ice inside. Next pour the water on top of the ice water. Set that aside for later. Paint your nails as normal. Take your time of course. Be sure to clean the edges to give them that salon look. Now place your wet nails in the bowl and count to 60. Take your nails out give them a shake and wha la. Your nails are now dry and ready to hit the road.

This works! I have done it countless times and it never fails. Let me know how it works for you.

Mixed Charm

Nothing can replace the feeling you get when you find something you love. It’s as if everything has just fallen together and the puzzle is complete. This past weekend I found the most amazing quaint up cycle store nested in the corner of a strip plaza mall in Summerville, SC.

Mixed Charm. Now when I say up cycle I am referring to the process of taking something old and making it new in a fun creative way. Mixed Charm up cycles items like clothes, furniture, jewelry, and more.

At first step in this cozy store your eyes go wild soaking in the wonderful pieces so beautifully layed out. To be honest one visit won’t do you justice. From pieces on the wall, table, and hooked on the cutest bookshelf you have got to miss something at first glance. Standing in amazement at such priceless jewels and gems everywhere I had to snap some pics. Here are a few pictures from my visit.

Amazing right! Apart from all these gorgeous pieces my favorite part of visiting this store was meeting the owners. They are the most sweetest couple with a heart for people. I also could not leave without a personalized request to up cycle a gorgeous dresser. Yes, personalized they also personalize an item to your liking and you can bring items for them to up cycle into your own custom made furnishing.

Needless to say if you live in Charleston, SC this store is a must visit. You can find Mixed Charm at 75 Old Trolley Rd Summerville SC, 29485 and on facebook Mixed Charm LLC be sure to tell them I sent you.

I will be sharing the before and after pics of my two personalized up cycled pieces as soon as I get them. I so can’t wait.

DIY Egg Mask

Today it’s all about the face. This face mask has many benefits and is super easy to do. Be sure to check out my video Tutorial to see exactly how I did it.
What you’ll need

1 Egg
2 Bowls

1 Brush

Single ply tissue

How it Works:

Crack the egg into one of the bowls, being careful not to crack the yolk because we will be using it later. Now separate the egg white and egg yolk. Break apart some small pieces of tissue; it doesn’t need to be neat. Just make sure the pieces overlap a little bit so they can come off as one big piece.

– Great way to deal with mild acne and scarring

– Cleansing of dirt and debris with the help of the homemade blackhead strips

– Will help decrease clogged pores, blackheads and dirt

– Helps reduce rosacea, large pores, and fine lines (Also help give temporary relief to deep lines)

Then pull off the strip as a whole and VOILA, clear beautiful skin.

Now to close up the pores and give your skin a beautiful shine, lets apply the egg yolk. Stir the same way you did the egg whites. Once it’s stirred, apply to the skin with your brush. You will feel your skin is tightening and the yolk is dried, you may wash it off. Then use your daily cleanser. I used my lush Herbalism. And you’re done!!!

I truly enjoyed this mask and will be doing it every Sat as a little freshener.

Storage Solutions

As I continue to organize and decorate my home I am finding more and more ways to save space. The best places to look for unique things are at your local odds and ends stores. Going into thrift stores and even eyeing one of a kind pieces online will help along the way. So today’s item comes from Big Lots. It’s not my everyday store to hit up but when I do I come out on top. My recent purchase consisted of two packs of three fushia felted accessories hanger. This pack cost $3.00 so basically one dollar for each hanger. I have seen a few of these in other places at a much higher price point. Apart from the high price point they were not even as cute.

As you can see I used three for jewelry and three for my scarves. This has helped save me so much space. No longer are my scarves falling down and all over the place. They are neatly organized on these super cute hangers. My closet is coming together slowly but surely. The fushia is my color and I have weeded out all of my clear plastic hangers to the fushia felt hangers. The felt helps to keep your clothes in place and off the floor. Whenever I see a pack of these felted hangers I grab them up usually at Marshalls or Ross.

Weekend Roundup

My birthday weekend has officially passed. I had a beautiful weekend filled with love and laughter. Friday night I spent some much needed qt time with my love in Greer,SC. It was nice to get away for a quick over nighter. Saturday we taught marriage class down at our church then headed to the movies that night to see War Room. A must see! This movie was awesome. I ended the night celebrating with my girls and my birthday buddy. Every year we celebrate our birthdays together in some way. We are a day apart August 27th and 29th. Sunday I spent some quiet time at home cleaning and relaxing. How did you spend your weekend?
